Do you ever feel unworthy or not good enough? I do most of the time. It’s the same reason why people can’t believe that I am now in ministry. Because I was seriously lost and not what you would think of as ministry material. Many of our people will say “Good morning Pastor” to me and I still have to do a double-take. Me…..Pastor? That title was reserved for people who were extremely holy and deserving of that title.
Maybe you struggle with being good enough or holy enough when it comes to your own life. I know I am not the only one that struggles with self condemnation. That’s why I am extremely thankful for passages like Roman’s 8
Romans 8(NLT)
8 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love....31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
I love that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ don’t you? I love verse 33 - who dares accuse us? No One!!! God has taken the old and replaced it with the new. The Lord wants you to be able to grasp the miracle of our right standing with God. God the Father gave up His son so that we could look like His son. The Bible says we are “co-heirs” with Christ. Everything that is His is also mine and yours.
The next time that you feel like you are not worthy or good enough remind yourself that you have a new nature and that no one can condemn you. That not only includes those are around you but that includes you. You are the biggest condemner of yourself just as I am the biggest condemner of myself and it’s time that we stop condemning ourselves when God says we can no longer be condemned. God himself declares you righteous and Holy by the blood of His own Son. Claim it….own it….and live it.
